Deforestation Education

About:
The Center For Great Apes is  home to 46 apes and located in Wauchula, FL on over 100 acres. It's just a few miles from the beautiful Peace River in south central Florida. The tropical forest setting of oak, pine, magnolia, sweet gum, willow, bamboo, palm, guava, mango, ginger, banana, and other exotic fruit trees is similar to great apes' native habitats. The heavily wooded environment is surrounded by hundreds of acres of grapefruit and orange groves.

Their Mission:

The Center for Great Apes’ mission is to provide a permanent sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees who have been rescued or retired from the entertainment industry, from research, or who are no longer wanted as pets. The Center provides care with dignity in a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for great apes in need of lifetime care.
